Mock Trial Competition

The Delaware High School Mock Trial competition takes place at the Leonard L. Williams Justice Center in Wilmington on the last Friday and Saturday of February, annually. We encourage all high schools to participate, regardless of experience. Resources and materials for new teams, as well as attorney coaches can be provided upon request.

Know Your Rights Workshops
We will bring prosecutors, police officers and defense attorneys with us to teach students about their rights under the 4th amendment and DE criminal law. In this engaging workshop, students not only learn what their rights are, but how and when to assert them so that they are safe and empowered
Lunch & Learn - Meet a panel of lawyers
DELREC will bring pizza and a panel of diverse attorneys, working in a variety of fields to meet your students. We can work around your schedule and come directly to your classroom!
Argue like a Lawyer
We will bring in law professionals to facilitate a civil discourse workshop. In this engaging hour, students will learn how to structure an argument, back it up with evidence, listen actively, and formulate relevant rebuttals.

Teacher Opportunity! ABA-Federal Judicial Center Summer Institute for Teachers 
The ABA is now accepting applications (HERE) for the 2024 summer institute for teachers, which will be held in Washington, DC, June 24-28, 2024. The ABA-FJC Federal Trials and Great Debates Summer Institute deepens participants’ knowledge of the federal judiciary and of the role the federal courts have played in key public controversies. The application deadline is March 1, 2024.
